Makin' bank.

Not really. This was my first paid headshot session with a student.

It's always interesting meeting up with a stranger to take photographs of them. Sometimes it's pleasantly surprising how easily the conversation flows.

This is the lovely Noelani. :]

Busy and dizzy.

I've hardly had enough time to breathe over the past few days! I'm not upset about this fact, but it is nice to finally have the chance to inhale.

On a side note, I just found my kitten eating cheese spread out of a bowl on my counter top.

A shameless plug.

Just a little publicity for the one-act I'll be performing in later this month. We're blessed with a wonderful director and an awesomely talented cast.

See that third pair of legs from the left? Yours truly. The photo was actually shot by yours truly, as well. It's going to be used on a poster but I don't have access to that poster at this time. So here is my version because it's better to get the word out sooner than later.

Come, if you're in the area, friends!

Behind on life!

Right now I feel like I'm running fast as I can to catch up with my life. It's not so much that I'm incredibly busy; I'm only moderately busy, a procrastinator, and enjoying the beginnings of what could be on its way to becoming a full-on cold. Sweet!

I've been doing some fun things lately and have been getting my share of good news lately, so I don't know how to explain the lack of enthusiasm and updates here. Soon I want to get back into the swing of posting here on a semi-daily basis. Preferably with more photos. Speaking of which...

I'm enjoying myself. The week got better. Let's hope this next one goes well!

It's the weekend!

Today my neighborhood is throwing our annual Block Party. It's not too life-changing when you're nineteen, but the little kids always seem to have fun. And I don't mind eating delicious food. We missed it last year, so it will be Ethan's first time joining us.

Anyway, yesterday we were supposed to celebrate my mom's birthday, belatedly. Plans fell through, so I had fun with Ethan! He came over and swam. I have the most fun playing with him in the pool! He also brought me a bag of what we have come to consider the best salad ever. Try Fresh Express' "Salsa! Ensalada Supreme" - or make a Salsa Salad of your own. Seriously amazing. Topped the night off with a walk and some TV. Not bad! :]

Speaking of E, I've been working on a little something for him. His birthday is right around the corner, and I can't wait to celebrate!

This post is so disjointed. But I guess I would also like to inform the masses that I've finished editing the photos from Nick and Becca's wedding. Finally! I'd like to share some of my faves with you!

Rebecca and a bridesmaid get ready at the beautiful Hilton.
Nick and Becca decided to take their formals before the ceremony - something that ended up being a blessing, because the lighting was ideal.
They did this all on their own. :P
A relieved bride greeting one of her musicians.
I just found it so sweet.
Bride and groom!

The kiss. :*
I was so pleased to see Nick and Becca displaying their engagement photos (taken by yours truly!) at the reception!
The Best Man and Maid of Honor both gave heartwarming toasts.
Ha!
Bouquet toss!
The groom wooing his bride before getting the garter!
Supposedly delicious cake. I never got a piece. What gives? :P

Overall, an awesome experience. I can't wait to shoot another wedding. The results are so rewarding!

Okay. Off to help Momma make Panzanella for the Block Party!

It's happened.

I received an amazing - and unnecessary - gift from my parents yesterday...

This beautiful Canon Rebel XSi is all mine!

Hard to believe that someone who in her wildest dreams fancies herself as somewhat of an amateur photographer has only just acquired a DSLR of her own. Until now I've been shooting everything from snapshots to portraiture to headshots with my mom's Olympus. It has, by all means, served me very well. But it was time for me to move on - and just in time for the wedding I'm shooting tomorrow (tomorrow?!). Still in disbelief and deliriously excited to keep playing around with it.

Headshots, headshots, headshots!

News report from the Theatre Sound Booth! This time I have come bearing jackets for warmth.

I have become the friendly neighborhood headshot photographer at my University. I've had six sessions in the past week and I'll have another tomorrow. Enjoy some of my favorite shots below.

Avoiding studying.

To bring you this.

Of all the 'artwork' I've created, that is probably one of my favorite pieces. Becca is up top; Nick is below. They were blowing bubbles in honor of their engagement - which, by the by, will come to an end on June 20th of this year. :]

This was one of my busiest weekends.

I had three rounds of photos to take. I have two more later this week. Tech Week for the mainstage production at my University begins Friday - I'm on Run Crew. Faaantastic. I could ramble on forever and ever about how busy I am, but I'd rather leave you with some photos from Saturday.

Two lovely actresses I had the pleasure of meeting this weekend. They are currently gearing up to perform in the very production I am Run Crewin'.

Eileen, right; Alicia, left... And let me take a moment to say I dislike the fact that the quality is significantly reduced in these.

Off to do the homework I've yet to do tonight. Can you tell I'm becoming numb to all things academic? :P

Camera, birthday, friends.

This is Christine, an actress and all-around sweet girl from my University. We had a photoshoot! via my flickr.

It was my birthday on Sunday. A couple of gifts, a delicious dinner, and unfortunately no cupcakes (would you believe they closed early on my birthday?!), and a performance later, my birthday was over. But the celebration continues this weekend, when my dad and my brother return from a missions trip to Mexico. huzzah!

There was no... birthday party, or anything... I don't know what it is. I've made no enemies at school, to be sure - but I haven't made any extremely close friends, either. I guess I am struggling in that regard. And I realized how much I miss my girl friends from high school - and even middle school. I've decided that I will organize a summer dinner thang for all of my loveliest lady friends. I'm already excited!

The end.

Portraits.

One of my instructors asked me to aid a photographer in taking headshots of my fellow classmates. Helping out actually turned into taking my own set of shots of each person. I collected a few that are among my favorites for a composite post of photos of lovely people. They look funy because they are big photos I compressed into smaller ones for the purposes of all things blog.

Kandace! The sweetest girl.
Allison!
Cathleen!
Rachel!
Melissa!
Dani!

I've missed taking portraits. This has been a ton of fun. I'll prolly do more for people in the coming weeks, which is exciting to me.

Jinelle was at SCU today and it was awesome. She is awesome. :] She goes back to Texas this weekend and I'll miss her! JayJay, thanks for having fun with me the past two weeks! I appreciate you coming to my show multiple times, I enjoyed our Target adventure, and I've had on-campus fun with you, too! :P muah!

And I have two finals to go til Spring Break! That means breakfast date with Ethan. Momma-Daughter get-away. Cleaning... Not ideal. But much needed. And, most importantly, no school. Hallelujah.
