Our Verse of the Week.

Ethan and I decided that it would help strengthen our relationship with each other and our relationship with God if we took turns selecting a weekly Bible verse. Each Sunday we select a verse and share with each other why we chose it. Listed below are the verses we've chosen thus far, complete date and reference. :]

  • May 3rd-9th: "When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted." Psalms 183:3.
  • May 10th-16th: "As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12.
  • May 17th-23rd: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9.
  • May 24th-30th: "[B]ecause of your father's God, who helps you, because of the Almighty, who blesses you with blessings of the heavens above, blessings of the deep that lies below, blessings of the breast and womb." Genesis 49:25.
  • May 31st-June 6th: "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12.

  • Jul7 12th-19th: "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." John 6:3.
  • July 20th-25th: "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10b.
  • July 26th-August 1st: "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:31-32.

  • September 13th-20th: "'Have faith in God,' Jesus answered. 'I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, "Go, throw yourself into the sea," and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.'" Mark 11:22-25.
  • September 21st-26th: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10.
  • November 1st-7th: "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:12-13.
  • November 8th-14th: "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities; Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit; Who crowns you with loving kindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like an eagle." Psalms 103:1-5.
  • November 15th-21st: "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." Colossians 4:2.
  • November 16th-28th: "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." Psalm 100:1-5.
  • November 28th-December 5th: "Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to reach, not resentful." 2 Timothy 2:22-24.
